Sciolytix B2B Sales Hiring Index for October Cools from September Highs

New York, NY., October 1, 2023 – The Sciolytix B2B Sales Hiring Index (SSHI-B2B) decreased from 116.0 in September to 105.7 in October 2023. The SSHI-B2B measures relative demand for full-time B2B sales talent in the US over the last 30 days through new sales job postings on LinkedIn and Glassdoor.

The decrease of 10.3 points from September to October suggests demand for B2B salespeople cooled over the past 30 days. September was the highest monthly measure since the index began in August 2022. The index was down 8.4 points from October 2022 to October 2023. 

The hiring landscape in B2B sales has shown remarkable resilience and positive growth. Currently, there are approximately 133,000 full-time B2B sales positions in the US, as reported by LinkedIn and Glassdoor. Despite the initial wave of massive layoffs by major corporations earlier this year, one would expect a significant rise in the unemployment rate. However, this has not been the case for B2B sales, which has maintained a steady employment rate.
