Every so often, training companies, educational publishers, and associations just like yours that offer continuing education encounter enterprise clients who love your content but prefer to deliver it through their own learning management system(s). As we all know, your prospects and clients are completely entitled to use their own LMS. But what if you typically offer your course content on your own LMS like DigitalChalk?
Well, not so fast. We’ve created a software solution called Content Fortress that allows organizations to take the content that they’ve created and distribute that same content to anyone around the world regardless of the LMS platform they want to use — all while maintaining 100% control over their content. No worrying about losing control over where that SCORM or AICC package goes, whether or not the content is providing value to your clients, or where it’s being distributed and launched.
Additional benefits include:
- No need to change how you create or package your content
- One place to manage that content (it doesn’t matter if you’ve got four clients or 1,000)
- Monitor consumption and cap the number of licenses for each customer
- Content is uploaded once and your updates will be automatically distributed to your clients (no time-consuming manual efforts)
- Get paid for exactly what your customer has purchased
- Unmatched visibility into how learners are interacting with your courses
- No more losing money and stressing over version control
How Does Content Fortress Work?
You create courses in your preferred tool (for example, Articulate) and package the content as a SCORM or AICC file. You then upload the package into Content Fortress and create a license for your customer. Your customer then uploads the licensed package into their LMS to deliver it to their learners.
You are in complete control! More importantly, you become a more valuable partner in the eyes of your clients, who now see you as solution-finders.
Many of our clients’ needs are met perfectly using only DigitalChalk to host, manage, and deliver their training content. But the idea for Content Fortress materialized after several clients came to us with very similar needs: they loved deploying their content on DigitalChalk, but one of their customers, partners, or divisions needed to use their own LMS (Cornerstone, Saba, etc.) to deliver their content internally. They didn’t want to lose control, and neither did we. But rather than say no, we looked at the situation as an opportunity to be entrepreneurial and solutions-minded.
And Content Fortress was born.
Our Chief Technology Officer, Troy Tolle, talks about the history and origins of Content Fortress in more detail during a recent Disruptors and Innovators podcast, so we suggest you check that out to learn even more about what Content Fortress can do for you.
